Cherishing the opportunity to make a stand and be involved, the opportunity to raise money - no matter how much - and know it's working towards having young people with serious drug and alcohol issues know they are not alone.
Cherishing the time to consider my own life, my own fortune, my blessings, healings, forgiveness.
I've noticed a change in myself, a person with seemingly more time. More time to hold my little boys, to sit and listen to my Wildish, to go out the back and build things that don't matter.
My struggles and problems were not taken away or even solved, but life was and is a brighter place some how for facing it.
I am looking forward to sharing a celebration of drink and food with my friends, but I love the fact that I know this place well now, this place of sobriety. I think I will frequent it and learn more about peace in a midst the chaos.
If you didn't get a chance to be involved this time round, then I encourage you to take it on next year. It's not just giving up alcohol for a month, if you want it to be - it's a gaining of understanding for life.
You still have a chance to be in it this year by sponsoring me, you can head to my link below and sneak in a gift for young people - to young to live with such struggle, to young for life to be cut short, to young to know there's many tomorrows full of wild and adventure so much more than the shadow of a moment escaped on a high.
